Manchester tram line closed by overhead fault
An overhead line fault near Salford Quays in Manchester is expected to disrupt Metrolink services on the Eccles line until further notice while repairs are carried out.
TfGM said there is no service between Eccles and Pomona, and trams will be running only between Ashton-under-Lyne and Deansgate-Castlefield.
Staff are helping passengers in the city centre and at the affected stops along the Eccles line.
TfGM’s interim Metrolink network director Ian Davies said: ‘We are sorry for any inconvenience this is causing customers this morning. Engineering teams are on site and working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible, but customers are advised to plan ahead, check before they travel and allow extra time for their journeys.’
