THE SELSEY TRAMWAY (JOE WHICHER)

With a young H F Stevens as engineer, "The Hundred of Manhood & Selsey Tramway" ran its first train from Chichester in 1897 and ran for 38 years before closure. Joe will relate its many idiosyncrasies, which became the butt of much humour.

VOLKS ELECTRIC RAILWAY (IAN GLEDHILL)

Ian will describe the story of electrical pioneer Magnus Vokes, who opened his little electric railway on Brighton seafront in 1883, which is now the world's oldest working electric railway. The short lived "Daddy Long Legs", an electric railway that ran in the sea, will also be mentioned.
