Talent Acquisition Partner

EmployerChiltern Railways
Posted27 July 2018

At Chiltern Railways, we’re on a journey to shake up the way we manage recruitment. This year we've introduced some key changes to our people systems, by introducing Avature as our recruitment platform and Workday as our HR platform, and as a result, we're ready for someone to come in and help us make the most of this time of change.

We're looking for a seasoned recruiter who will relish the opportunity to come into our business and make their mark on our Talent Acquisition function. From writing an inspiring job advert to closing a candidate, you know what it takes to get the right person into the right job and the difference a great hire, made in a timely way, can make to business performance.

You'll be someone who enjoys a busy workload and knows how to prioritise based on what your stakeholders, both internal and external, need from you. Being organised and an excellent communicator is an absolute MUST as you could have up to 17 open roles at any one time.

You aren't afraid to push back and educate managers on their hiring process and methods, but you'll have built credibility and will have a proven track record, so they have confidence in you when you do this. Taking accountability and responsibility for your own performance is something you automatically do knowing that the buck stops with you.

You’ll be accountable for many things including:

  • successful day-to-day running of the department including posting job ads within 24 hours of receiving an authority to recruit (ATR), responding to all candidates that have applied to a job, reviewing applications, arranging interviews and keeping active hiring managers posted weekly on how their job is doing

  • advising managers on the most effective methods to find their hire

  • building our online presence by posting on LinkedIn weekly and re-writing the recruitment pages on our website

  • running our annual Engineering Apprentices and Graduate Recruitment campaigns

  • reviewing our agency spend and reducing this through different methods; proactive headhunting, negotiating with agencies, building talent pipelines for difficult to fill roles

  • ensuring our average time to hire is eight weeks

  • representing Chiltern when working on Talent Acquisition projects with the Arriva Group.

You'll be based at our London Marylebone HQ but will visit one, or two, of our other sites (Aylesbury, Banbury, Birmingham) at least weekly and more frequently during times of specialist hiring. A flexible approach with regards to hours and location is required.

The salary for this role is up to £39,000 dependant on experience.
