Combining your technical train-planning expertise and your ability to develop

your team, you will ensure that we make the most of the major capacity

enhancements in the Waterloo area and the deployment of yet more rolling stock,

by increasing frequency, capacity and other improvements for our new franchise.

 

Our focal point for all train-planning issues, you will lead your team to deliver a

robust operational train-plan that meets the needs of the business while

balancing customer service, productivity, resource availability and good working

practices as well as timetable and resource plan specifications that meet the

strategic intent of the timetable plan.

 

Important issues within your remit include directing the production process of

train-plans which result in fully compliant timetables and diagrams; the

development of effective special events and engineering timetables; taking

account of major infrastructure works developing timetabling and inputting to

Network Change processes; directing the possession planning team to ensure

possession plans are developed with Network Rail which minimise impact whilst

giving reasonable engineering access; optimising operational resources;

developing future timetable and resource plan specifications; embedding industry

best practise and supporting the introduction of new train-planning systems to

optimise the production of stock and crew resource diagrams; and producing

reports and financial forecasts of rail replacement services and monitoring

expenditure against budget.
