BREAKING NEWS:

The names of the Ministers who will serve under the new transport secretary Philip Hammond include the shadow transport spokesman for the Conservatives, Theresa Villiers, who will serve as Minister of State. She is MP for Chipping Barnet.

The two Parliamentary Under Secretaries of State are understood to be the MP for Lewes, Norman Baker, who was the Liberal Democrat transport spokesman before the election, and Mike Penning, the Conservative MP for Hemel Hempstead. In practice, all three will probably be described as "Transport Ministers" for most purposes.

The appointment of Philip Hammond as Secretary of State for Transport, as successor to Lord (Andrew) Adonis, was announced yesterday.

The division of transport responsibilities between the three new Ministers is not yet known.

really want liberal guy to get rail, with their views on rail i think it would do alot of good to the industry, although i heard conservatives will stop building works on railway alignments, which i agree with fully.
