RMT calls Metropolitan Line strikes in rosters dispute

SERVICES on the Metropolitan Line of London Underground are set to be disrupted by two 24-hour strikes. The RMT has called for the walkouts as part of the continuing disputes over rosters, which could also mean no Night Tube services will run until June. The Metropolitan Line stoppages have been announced from 11.30 on 20 January until 11.29 the following day, and also from 11.30 on 11 February, again until 11.29 the next morning. Meanwhile, the union said support for the latest Night Tube strikes over the weekend had been 'solid'.

Councillors advised to object over new Cambridge station plan

OFFICERS at South Cambridgeshire District Council are advising councillors to oppose Network Rail's plan for a new station at Cambridge South. There is concern that the development would mean a loss of trees, and also question marks over the effect of the work on residents and how Network Rail would achieve a proposed 10 per cent gain in biodiversity.

Southern returns to London Victoria

SOUTHERN trains are running into London Victoria today for the first time since the New Year. Services had been interrupted by Covid-related staff shortages, and not all timetabled trains have been reinstated yet. The Waterloo & City Line of London Underground also restarted at 06.00 today. Services had been interrupted by staff shortages and all available drivers had been allocated to the Central Line, which is worked with the W&C.
