TRAIN services in Kent were disrupted by a thunderstorm last night which started a substation fire at Dollands Moor near the Channel Tunnel portal, causing a loss of traction current.

One Eurostar train from London to Paris could not complete its journey and passengers were taken to hotels.

Other Eurostar and Southeastern trains were delayed. Firecrews were called to a number of related incidents after the storm, which hit the Folkestone and Dover areas.
