Operator prosecuted for 'non-stop' incident
SOUTHEASTERN is facing legal action after one of its trains failed to stop at a station and reportedly continued out of control for some 4km. The prosecution has been started following a Rail Accident Investigation Branch report into the incident, at Stonegate, on 8 November 2010.
The train came to a stand without any injuries or damage. It will be alleged by the Office of Rail Regulation that the company had failed to keep the train's sand hoppers topped up.
The case is due to be heard by magistrates at Sevenoaks on 24 May.
