Belgian strike cancels Eurostar

24-Hour industrial action in Belgium beginning at 22.00 on Sunday 5 October will prevent Eurostar from operating any services between the UK and Brussels on Monday 6 October. Also, because of constraints imposed by the amended timetable following September’s Channel Tunnel incident, Eurostar will be unable to run services between the UK and Lille on that day.

The general strike will close Brussels Midi station and the rest of the Belgian rail network, with no services able to run between Lille and Midi and no high-speed onward rail connections on Thalys or ICE from Brussels to destinations in France, the Netherlands and Germany.

Eurostar advises all passengers planning to travel between the UK, Lille and Brussels on 6 October to change their plans and exchange tickets for alternative dates, or obtain refunds, by contacting their original point of sale. For more information they are asked to visit www.eurostar.com or contact the Ashford Contact Centre on 08705 186 186.
