Eurostar Ski Specials Put Environment On Upward Slope

Eurostar privide a twice-weekly service to the French Alps from December to April

EUROSTAR is now selling tickets for its twice-weekly direct ski trains which run from St Pancras International and Ashford International to Moutiers, Aime-La-Plagne and Bourg St Maurice for resorts in the French Alps from December to April.

The services offer easy access to top ski resorts such as Courchevel, La Plagne, Tignes, Meribel and Les Arcs, with the slopes a short bus ride from the train and one extra item of luggage carried free of charge.

Eurostar to the Alps is environmentally friendly as all its journeys are now carbon neutral. Detailed independent research commissioned by Eurostar has shown that a passenger travelling on a return journey from london to the French Alps generates 24 kilograms of CO2. By comparison, a passenger on a typical London Heathrow to Geneva return flight generates 191 kilograms of CO2, while a typical round trip between Gatwick and Geneva generates 169 kilograms of CO2 per passenger.
